The founders

IQON was founded as a joint venture linking the worlds of design and finance. Its two founders bring decades of experience in global real estate investment, and in design, innovation and urban research.

Co-founder

Giovanni is a real estate investment veteran with more than two decades of experience in European real estate finance and investment. He was Head of Real Estate Investment Banking for Citigroup in EMEA, having joined Citi in 2001 after completing his MBA at INSEAD, and previously worked at Deutsche Bank and Bank of America in London and Milan.

Before founding IQON he launched Aegila Capital Management, a London-based European real estate investment firm originating, executing and managing property investments internationally. At IQON he leads investment, structuring and the firm’s relationships with capital partners.

Carlo Ratti

Carlo Ratti

Co-founder

Carlo is an architect and engineer, founding partner of CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and Professor of the Practice of Urban Technologies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he directs the Senseable City Lab. He was the curator of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2025.

His work at CRA and MIT on the future of the workplace and the data-driven understanding of cities informs IQON’s design-led approach to value creation.
